CHAKWERA APPLAUDS MUSLIM UNITY

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has commended the Muslim community, in the country for fostering co-existence and unity during the holy month of Ramadan.

He made the remarks on Monday March 31 during Eid Ul-Fitr prayers at Mchoka Primary School Ground in the area of Senior Chief Ndindi, Salima.

The President said a divided nation, cannot progress, stating that Malawians need to unite for the country to develop across various sectors.

He expressed concern over individuals, including politicians, who seek to create anarchy and instability, noting that such actions could hinder development and lead to chaos.

He also acknowledged that those who participated in this year’s Ramadan have contributed to promoting unity in Malawi.

In his remarks, Mufti Shamuuna Sosola, from the Qadria Muslim Association of Malawi (QMAM), commended President Chakwera for his commitment to unify Malawians.

He described the President’s presence as a reflection of humility, which embodies true leadership.

Sosola also said that the Muslim community is satisfied with President Chakwera’s administration, citing various development achievements in the country.

Speaking earlier, Uladi Mussa a member of the Muslim Community, commended the President’s administration for providing financial support for Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations in various districts, which has proven successful.

Mussa appreciated the President’s participation in the Eid Ul-Fitr prayers with the people of Salima, highlighting that this gesture shows respect for both the Muslim community and the residents of Salima.

This year’s Eid Ul-Fitr is being commemorated under the theme “Harmonious Co-existence and Unity in Malawi.”
